Just the same settings that worked under 1999 Q3 (esound output).

Yesterday I succeeded in reading some pppd debug output in kppp log windo=
w,
but today it does not work anymore. However it just said "Sorry, can't he=
lp
you" and showed that it hanged up when trying to connect to ppp0.
What can be interesting is the output I get from a shell when I launch kp=
pp.

debian:~# kppp
Kernel supports ppp alright.
Couldn't find interface ppp0: No such device
Couldn't find interface ppp0: No such device
pppd: The remote system is required to authenticate itself
pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to=

It really looks like it can't find ppp0... ;)
I won't post the aliases list again, but the settings are
alias ppp0 ppp
alias ppp1 ppp


Last but not least, is there a way to shutdown the system other than open=
ing
a shell and typing shutdown -r now?
The logout function in Gnome does not show the Reboot and Shutdown option=
s
even if linuxconf settings and shutdown permissions are ok.
