Which Debian distribution ?

I've been struggling with latest bootstrap, latest ramdisk, and latest ke=
rnel (woody), with no success so far, I only could do a minor boot but wh=
en it tries to get to the fb part it get's stuck, I am wondering if anybo=
dy with a CV643d had similar problems or there is a problem with my hardw=
are ?

bogl didn't seem to understand the format needed for the virge, 800x600-1=

(XxY-bpp) neither it understands if I use amifb alone and shut the CV643d=
 off.

Can any of you experts have an explanation to this ?
