XFBDev --- does version 4.x work with CV643D ?

Hi,

Long ago when I installed XFree86.3.3.6 I had to replace XFBDev with
one made by Geert U. , (very old), to make it work, if I want to use
XFree86 4.x do I have to do the same or is there another way to
configure it ?
