Hi Emanuele > Hi all, > > only two question: > > 1- Can I use all LinuxPPC RPM packets applications (Yellow Dog, Mandrake, > RedHat, Suse, etc) on my LinuxPPC 1999 Q3 ? It depends. First of all, not every distribution uses the same directory tree layout (well, maybe the newest distros are now using the a common standard, but I don't think that LinuxPPC 1999 Q3 already did). Then, LinuxPPC is based on RedHat packages. This makes it possible to use at least all packages of other PPC distros, which are also based on RedHat packages (for example Yellow Dog). SuSE for example uses an other directory scheme (or at least an other handling of config files). If you haven't got very complex SuSE packages, they should also run within the LinuxPPC scheme. I have to admit that I don't know anything about Mandrake. > 2- A great site where I find all LinuxPPC RPM aplications for my LinuxPPC > 1999 Q3. http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/ -- Kind regards, Andi |
