well, you can always grab 2.4.9 or 2.4.13 (in sf.net archive)
kernels and then just use RPMs to update your LinuxPPC 2000 distro :-)

download those files to an FFS partition.  Use the Debian installer
ramdisk with the debian APUS kernel and the bootstrap  (all in the same
area of the Debian FTP site) to install onto your free disk.
