Gnome and XFree86

After I managed to lose everything I've had to reinstall from scratch so =
I've managed
to do a dist-upgrade from the main distribution as well as issuing

apt-get install task-x-window-system-core task-x-window-system task-gnome=
-desktop

This all worked fine. Now to get XFree 4.x I changed to testing and issue=
d

apt-get install xserver-xfree86

For some reason it wants to remove my gnome desktop and I can't seem to b=
e able to
install the version from testing, too many unsatisfied dependencies. Am I=
 going
about this all wrong?

Also could someone tell me where I can find a faster mirror for downloadi=
ng?
ftp.de.debian.org is painfully slow, and that's the fastest one I could f=
ind of the
ftp.xx.debian.org mirrors.
