To use higher rates you need to play some tricks with amifb, this has been discussed on this list. > 2) is there a way (any!) to have non-compiled modules loaded on startup? > Each time I want to go online I have to login as root, load amiga_ser and > then relogin as user... First of all, you don't ever have to log in as root, nor should you. man su. You can have modules loaded at startup by putting their names into /etc/modules. The more elegant way is to have them be loaded on demand by defining aliases in /etc/modules.conf (maybe your distro is so old that it's still called /etc/conf.modules). Again, this has been discussed here. > PS: Maybe it's OT, but I noticed that I do not suffer anymore from BVPPC > overheating problems when using Linux. Does this mean anything to anyone? Are you using a 4.x X server yet? If not, the Permedia2 chip is probably hardly used. --=20 Earthling Michel D=E4nzer (MrCooper)/ Debian GNU/Linux (powerpc) developer XFree86 and DRI project member / CS student, Free Software enthusiast |
