BTW, in Debian testing and sid there are packages for newer kernels. The
latest is kernel-image-2.4.14-apus, or use kernel-image-apus, which will
always give you the latest APUS kernel.

Actually, the driver shouldn't try to use Int10 with Option "UseFBDev".
I've submitted a patch to that effect, which will hopefully be included
for 4.2.0.

As you still seem to have problems, it would be interesting to see a
log. If you can't access the box remotely, remount the filesystem
containing /var synchronously to capture as much information as
possible.
