Hi there all,
I'm trying to get a Sony SMO-C501 magneto optical drive to work through a
GVP Series II SCSI adapter. Now is there any reason not to trust any of the
standard utilities cfdisk, scsiinfo, mke2fs, badblocks with this setup on
APUS?
It looks fine on boot, i can actually mount it with the correct size,
badblocks -w does execute wonderfully, but problems start with things like
making nested directories on the ext2 filesystem (files are ok), or doing a
scsi inquiry like
scsiinfo -g /dev/sda (see dmesg below).
Can anyone tell me where to start looking with this? I don't have any other
scsi host around and i know this drive is a problem by itself, but to me
this might seem to be having to do with the GVP driver or something...
Or could it be the geometry is wrong (it says 10 heads in cfdisk, which i
know should be 1). Also most of the disks are 1024 bytes/sector in stead of
512. Is that still a problem with the current kernel?
Well, thanks anyway, bye, Pieter Ennes.
