XFree 4

Hi,
I am running Debian 2.2r3 and am needing to upgrade from Xfree 3 to Xfree 4.
I have checked out the Debian Website with no luck.
The APUS website is supposed to have what I need, but I am under the
impression I need a .deb file, compatible with debian. Is there such a .deb
file or do I need to go about this in a different manner.
Also, using Debian , should I upgrade the Kernal to 2.4? (and again is there
a specific Debian Kernal that I need.
When I have asked questions before I often get pointed in the direction of
some FAQ's but then seem unable to find them. Should I be using my browser
or a NewsReader ie NewsRog?If anyone can give me the exact source of these
FAQ's I would be grateful.
