I run 2.4.18 (not updated to the most recent cvs version yet) and=20

XFree86 Version 4.1.99.1 / X Window System

Build Operating System: Linux 2.4.9 ppc [ELF]

on A4000 and it is very stable, can't recall a single crash and certainly
no damaged disks.
