Modules seems to be working fine except for a few problems in the /etc/modules.conf file which I could fix someday if I get tired of the error messages. >Let's not hope so, but why on earth didn't you use >http://linux-apus.sourceforge.net/debian/dists/potato/modutils_2.4.1-2_powerpc.deb I usually just go get the latest tarball I can find. The i386 laptop and power mac that I just got are too new to be supported by Debian stable. I had download the 2.4.x kernels and the latest PCMCIA package for the laptop. I also compiled XFree86 from the CVS sources. I had a few problems with not having the correct libraries and so forth to compile xfree. I tried to find them on the Debian CD set, if not I downloaded and compiled the tarball. I installed them in /usr/local/. I'm not too religious about using .debs. I'd rather get the system up and working. BTW I'm not sure what to do about my Amiga. I can't do much without the expansion bus (Zorro) working. I will probably have to send the mb off to some repair facility. I need to find one that is trustworthy and experienced. Fred |
