clock chip on quikpak A4000T

The clock chip has never worked properly under APUS
on my A4000T.  Has anyone has similar problems?

I always get "cannot access hw clock by any known method"
or "hw clock contains invalid time" or something like that.

The clock chip does appear to work though it loses time;
several minutes a week.
