Hmm, I did some more extensive tests with delay loops in various places,
in the end essentially sending only one byte a second to the printer. Still,
there was garbage in the output (not all characters were garbage, but some).

I will try with DEBUG tonight. 

What I really find wierd, we had exactly the same situation in 2.2. Until
someone fixed it. And the problem was IIRC not in parport_amiga.
