Perhaps this has already been suggested, but what happens when you change (in 2.2.10) arch/ppc/mm/init.c line 1609 from: #define RAM_PAGE (_PAGE_RW) to #define RAM_PAGE (_PAGE_NO_CACHE | _PAGE_RW) It should run *slow*, but any CPU caching should be gone.
