Problem using kernels>2.4.9

Hi,

so far I only get 2.4.9 running (more or less stable) on my A1200. The 
specs:

A1200
Blizzard 603e, NoSCSI, 200, 040/40, 2x 64MB EDO (memtest says ok)
BVision
IDEFix 4way-Adapter
40 GB HDD (hda)
Teac 32x CDROM (hdb)
PCMCIA Fiberline

When I try to use a kernel newer than 2.4.9 my system will run into a 
kernel panic right at the beginning.
I tried the kernels from the APUS-Homepage.

Any hints? I could provide some screenshots.
