Hi! I still have problems getting off the net with Linux. But I'm making progress here. With the 2.4.4-apus kernel I've managed to get my Telix56k modem dial up the phone number to my ISP, but after a few seconds the pppd daemon dies(pppd daemon 2.4.1 shipped with Debian3.0). Is there a better version of pppd available? Btw. 2.4.4 is slower and much more buggy than the 2.4.18 kernel which I use the most. The latest version 2.4.20, this one doesn't even want to boot on my system, but I will try a few more times, though. When the the official 2.6 kernel reaches stable, will there be an APUS kernel short afterwards? -- Bj=F6rn Johansson "Debian rocks!!" |
