Hello!
I have problem installing Debian on my system. I have Debian on a CD (quite
old version from 1999) which I had installed on my Amiga before my old HD
crashed. Now I have PowerFlyer from Elbox and 30GB HD. When I try to
install Debian at the point I want to use "mke2fs -c /dev/hda4 /mnt/root" I
get a message:
mke2fs 1.12, 9-Jul-98 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
mke2fs: bad blocks count - /mnt/root
Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

I have a Power Flyer and know that they are not supported in Linux, (Elbox won't release details IIRC), so I have to use 'noscsi' in the command line when launching. Didn't help :-(( Tell me what versions of Debian, bootstrap etc. have you
got. How large is your hard drive? How are your partitions organized?
Next strange behavior is when I use mke2fs -c /dev/hda4, preparing the
filesystem starts but after a whiele (5-10 sec.) I get kernel panic :-( Can
anyone who have the PowerFlyer describe to me in private how he has done
the Debian installation?

bootstrap and ppcboot_pup from the bh000629.lha archive, Kernel 2.4.4, =
*To setup a new installation I use the following boot commands:*
cd os2linux:2.4.4/
*The next 2 lines are all on 1 command line:*
bootstrap --apus -k vmapus-2.4.4 -r root.bin root=3D/dev/ram
video=3Dpm2fb:mode:1024x768-70 noscsi 60nsram
I only set up partition size and file system on the miggy side, then the
format, setup etc was done automatically when doing the install from
the cd's. My =
10 Gig hd is set up as follows:
DH0: 150Meg PFS\03 Miggy boot
LX0: 1.8Gig Identifier 0x4C4E5800 Mask 0x7FFFFFFF
MaxTransfer 0x00FFFFFF block size 1024
** This is the main Linux drive / **
SW0: 216.5M Identifier 0x53575000 Mask 0x7FFFFFFF
MaxTransfer 0x00FFFFFF block size 1024
** This is the Swap partition **
AL0: 500Meg FFS Miggy/Linux partition (Can be
see on both systems, so can be used to transfer files, and is mounted
in Linux as /dev/hda4 /mnt/amiga
DH2: 1.2Gig PFS\03 Miggy
Plus others not important to linux.
This is using a Power Flyer i/f and only having access to Primary and
Slave on the 1st i/f. =

Can you tell me exactly what CDs? Any link to download images?

Seems I've got the same hardware config (1 HD and 1 CD drive both on 1st
i/f).
