Hi, I've just uploaded two new test kernels to http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-apus/ There is a 2.4.0-test10 kernel for permedia2 user, it boots for me but I only get garbled output with the amifb, but as the 2.4.0 kernel works I didn't bother to check what's wrong. More interesting is of course the 2.4.0 kernel. The new pci code is probably broken, but I enabled the debug output, so please send me your dmesg output and I'll see what I can do. Ren=E9, I also included an improved version of the fastlane driver, maybe this one works. :) So please give it a try and enjoy the new wonderful world of 2.4. :-) bye, Roman |

After this the cursor blinks all time in the next line AND (I forgot this) my power-led blinks regularly!!! Yesterday I tried something: Due to the fact that my fastlane ROM is selfmade and only 200ms (should be 150ms) and my old ROM did not work with the 060, I installed the old one again, disabled the CDROM within AmigaOS and tried it again - the same procedure as every time }-[ ! BUT I recognized that without any SCSI-HW connected to the fastlane the kernel boots completely and the installscript tells me that it could not find SuSE CD 1 in drive (no drive given of course)!!! Maybe that will help a little!! The FASTLANE code does not recognize SCSI-HW connected to the FASTLANE!! Today I'll try to give the FASTLANE some RAM and try booting again! Unfortunately I do not have any 2.4 kernel stuff for m68k and there was no response yet to my questions about it within different groups! But I'll try all the new 2.x APUS kernels when they appear (like yesterday)! All of the 2.4 kernels do the same (I already posted the output), out of the 2.4-test4. That kernel boots a line further (scsi: detected total)! And the power led is blinking with all those kernels! Not sure, but that line don't seem complete, but then i may be wrong, hav= ing not looked at the code. scsi: detected total makes one think about : scsi: detected total 2 devices (or something such). What does the -test4 kernel say when there are no devices connected ? Could it be that the number field, or whatever, containing the connected devices is not correctly filed, thus hardboring a NULL pointer access or = an unallocated array entry access or something such ? The other (2.4-)kernels don't even print that line and some of the 2.2.10 kernels print rubbish into this line: There appears parts of the text from two lines above in the console. To all: I forgot to mention that I played yesterday a little with the termination and some RAM on the FASTLANE but the results didn't change!
