Here is a current snapshot of the bug.

Details: When I Try "modprobe parport_amiga" (after "modprobe parport") I get "device or resource busy."

Investigation yielded that getting the CIA IRQ fails.

Have you tried modprobe parport_amiga directly?

Yes. Does not work. And according to the docs, you have to modprobe parport 
first.

Doesn't modprobe automatically insmod parport first?

If not, this can be handled in /etc/modules.conf - add a line

pre-install parport_amiga modprobe parport

(man modules.conf)

I think so. But nevertheless, parport_amiga fails.
