fter the patches to mm -test7 boots again (for me). But I can't load any modules, because they are installed in different paths than test6 and earlier. The commit notices are pending for unknown reasons, but I have applied the MOL 'patches' to the 2.2 tree. No branch, the changes are really minimal. So minimal I can hardly believe it works (why is NO_RELOAD_HTAB undef'd in mm/init.c while it remains defined in kernel/head.S?), but the ones who are so eager about MOL should try. It hasn't worked for me yet (the kernels didn't even boot, and as debug=mem doesn't work...), and for pm2fb you need to use an old boothack anyway I suppose. Thanks Two more questions: 1. Can I "check" PCI for Permedia2 and use new boothack or should i "uncheck" it and use old one? 2. Is AFFS fixed ? I noticed that the 2.2 tree has a merge_2-2-16 branch (which I created) and a merge-2-2-16 one. If you create branches, please check that there isn't one for the same purpose already. Hi, > Log message: > more mm fixes I really hope I did find now everything, a working kernel so far was very much depending on memory layout and phase of the moon. There is an issue left with ioremap, but nothing serious (the p_mapped_by_bats should also check the flags). BTW parport_amiga should be fixed now too, at least I can load it, but I don't know if it does anything useful. Probably on wednesday I'm going to update to test8 and break everything again. :) bye, Roman |

hi, Would it be possible to integrate the BadRAM system http://home.zonnet.nl/vanrein/badram/ with LinuxAPUS kernel? This would allow users of APUS to get cheap/free memory SIMMs to use with their system (faulty SIMMs invariably get thrown away...this nifty system gives SIMMs a new life! Anyone here know how well this could be integrated...x86 architecture being variably different with its memory allocation and MMU details alan |
