Malcolm, If you would like to add an informational item to your compatability list, here is my experience with Progress RDMS. I use Progress RDMS V7.3 ported for SCO Unix. Progress runs perfectly under the old iBCS. Version 7 of Progress is text only. Under the linux-abi shipped with RH7.0, Progress would not function correctly. It was a failure. Under the current linux-abi Progress V7.03 runs fine with one exception. The Progress statement, OUTPUT THROUGH, which is an interprocess call to the OS, fails. There is a bug report listed for this. The Progress statements, OUTPUT TO and UNIX can be combined to provide a workaround in most instances. Cheers, Robert P.S. I find that there is suprisingly little traffic on this list. Maybe linux-abi is getting less use than I would have imagined. Or else it is getting a tremendous amount of use with very few problems. I certainly am grateful that Martin and you and the others have picked up where Mike Jagis left off. -- Robert W March St. Andrew's House L'Orignal ON Canada |
