Hello. I'm using a software package called Synchronics. This is a Point of Sale application. I had to compile into the kernel support for running Unix binaries, in which case I compiled a vanilla 2.4.15 kernel as per the instructions on your website (including the 2.4.16pre1 patch). The programs had been running normally after I built the new kernel until recently, it's now producing the following output: Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: printing eip: Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: 000008d9 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: *pde = 37fdb067 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: *pte = 00000000 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: Oops: 0000 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: CPU: 0 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: EIP: 0023:[<000008d9>] Not tainted Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: EFLAGS: 00010246 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: eax: 00000032 ebx: 080f4bac ecx: 0810304c edx: 080d350c Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: esi: 080f4bac edi: 080f4bac ebp: bffffdd8 esp: bffffdc8 Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: ds: 002b es: 002b ss: 002b Jan 7 17:56:31 bpsrv1 kernel: Process syndel (pid: 1638, stackpage=f6cf7000) Jan 7 17:56:32 bpsrv1 kernel: <7>[syndel:1639]: set personality to 7000003 Jan 7 17:56:33 bpsrv1 kernel: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address f89ba000 Sometimes it executes normally, other times it produces the above message. Any ideas? -BW In addition to my last message, the syndel program also produces the following message when it does work: Jan 7 17:56:38 bpsrv1 kernel: <7>[syndel:1648]: set personality to 7000003 Thanks, BW __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
