Linux-ABI has a feature that allows alternative, per-personality roots which might slow down stat. Try putting #undef CONFIG_ABI #undef CONFIG_ABI_MODULE at the beginning of include/asm-i386/namei.h an tell me the new results, ok? Christoph -- Of course it doesn't work.
