I need to run an old SCO app on a recent version of Linux, if possible CentOS (I prefer CentOS just because I'm already using redhat 9.0, quite similar).
Is there someone who can give me an answer?
Is it better to use 32 or 64 bit linux?
Why are you talking about ibcs-3.9 or ibcs-3.10 when the latest release available is 3.8 ?
Which ibcs release is better to use?
I think that these info would be very useful for many people...
Thank you in advance.
Alex

I use several years on multiple servers IBC-3_8 is on 32bit CentOS with FoxPro for SCO UNIX. Currently CentOS version 5.10 original kernel 2.6.18-371.1.2.el5PAE, it works without problems. Config file is attached.

Thank you for your answer,
I just downloaded CentOS-5.10 32 bit, and installed as a VM in vmware player:
ibcs-3.8 compile without errors, modules are loaded without error, but when I try to run my app, I get a "SEGMENTATION FAULT" or "Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (Signal 11)"
with CentOS-5.4 (without yum updates) the same app is working fine...

Remember with the VMware guest you create not to exceed the address space available to the os your apps used, I think. I found I needed to use guests compatible with VMware 6 to get some of my apps working, presumably due to the die of pointers the could deal with...
