Hi,
I hope there will be in future some more info through sound,
I tried to use a oss-wrapper, but still got no sound for the bell :-(
a little ring or playing a soundfile would be great, if someone will connect you,
or you will connect someone, or if someone rings you with //bell !
Best thing would be alsa support!
thx
alex
Some time ago, I disabled the OSS sound support in this commit since OSS is deprecated:
https://sourceforge.net/p/linpac/linpac/ci/a70a9d53b7c3c8f169e5eedb87ac97b03c2cf431/#diff-2
Did you find this OSS support referred to in the documentation? If so, please let me know and I'll first update the docs. Next, PC speaker sound works just fine with Linpac... does your Linux support a mixer setting for PC Speaker? This works well on my system here and if you're interested in getting that going, please create a new thread on https://sourceforge.net/p/linpac/discussion/
Adding in a system command to use ALSA "play" could be added in the future and I'll leave this ticket until we have something nicer in place.
but now I have a big problem... I have compiled it under the Raspberry PI,
and it works, but the PI does not have a speaker, and the module snd_pcspkr or so,
does not work here ?!?
On my desktop it's not the problem, the only problem is that you can't add more volume to
the sound, because of its small speaker..
Adding sound shouldn't be too hard so I'll try to look into it in a bit. I assume you can compile your own version of Linpac to give new DEV versions a try?
I've had a working solution for native sound support in Linpac using external scripts for some time but have been lax in committing it. My solution allows users to use their own desired sound player (default is aplay) and also even use their own sound clips for connect, disconnect, KNAX, etc. I hope to commit this soon.
