should I have typed in anything wrong on the initial installation
script, how do I run it again?
When linpac is started for the first time, it automaticaly creates the
directory called LinPac in your home directory. This directory
contains your personal LinPac configuration. When creating this
directory LinPac asks for basic information and prepares a useable
configuration for you.
Every time you run "linpac", you're actually running a wrapper script
(/usr/bin/linpac). If this wrapper script finds that the various
configuration files in $HOME/LinPac are NOT there, it will create that
directory, copy over the template files, and prompt you for the minimum
settings. If it DOES find the setup files in your home directory, it
will run the Linpac binary found in /usr/share/linpac/linpac. I know
this is a bit strange but that's how Radek originally coded things.
Do you have any instruction on how to interface linpac with direwolf?
Maybe perhaps on the webpage that states it hasnt been updated since
which shows the last release in 2003.
Yes.. and sorry about that confusing detail. I need to delete the old
web page but it's not exactly clear how to do that in the SourceForge
system. Anyway, Linpac is arguably just an AX.25 application and if
Direwolf is properly configured to run on Linux, Linpac will just work
via Linux's native AX.25 stack. I do need to update my main Centos
documentation to contain all of this in one place but, for now, here are
some docs to read:
