The new PDF preview makes perfect sense to me. The integrated preview
allows to quickly see what your music looks like, while its rendering
engine is not really convenient for quality-printing anyway.
If you configure an external PDF viewer (e.g. Adobe Reader, Foxit or
Sumatra) in the LilyPondTool options panel, you can even use a
keyboard shortcut to open it.
