The 'Edit Curve' feature allows to adjust the response of the lamp in only one direction, ie it can rise more steeply to start with. The reverse may also be required and in fact seems to be with LED responses, ie it should be able to rise less steeply to start with. I suggest the initial setting of the curve slider is in the middle of its range. Pushing it up makes it rise more steeply to start - pushing it down makes it rise less steeply to start.

I agree. This is something I'd been thinking about for a while. The lamp editor will be completely rewritten in v2 and will include a much better curve tool.
