Maybe you have to grant crond write permission to /var/log/wtmp and set=20
inheritance level (-i) to 1. I think you are facing this problem because=20
crond invokes rdate. So, crond is not allowed to write to wtmp and,=20
since rdate is running as a child process, it also does not have such=20
permission.
