This happened to me too sometime between midnight and 6AM CST last night. Also, most of my friends were kicked off ICQ with "rate limit exceeded" or somesuch messages. And, I have a Jabber server which is running the ICQv7-t transport; whatever this "bomb" was managed to (through the server) segfault Gabber on my machine, crash my roommates Winjab, and (on the server) crash the separate ICQ transport as well as the main Jabber server process. It was insane. It was like one huge EMP blast straight from the ICQ server that nuked everything connected to their network. :) I'm running the Debian package of licq-cvs from February. Though, I don't think licq has anything to do with this particular problem, it would be nice if it didn't spam little windows all over the place when something bogus happens. -- Ryan Underwood, <nemesis at icequake.net>, icq=10317253 |= icequake networks, ltd. =|= university of missouri rolla =| |= system administration =|= computer science =| |
