I have helped to add decryption with known password (not hacking) of WP MAC files to libwpd. Fridrich Strba gave me encrypted file before many years. I have no MAC to encrypt this myselves.
This small code demonstrates, how to read WP6 files, that are encrypted with original encryption. Advanced encryption is not available. There needs to add rejection of new WP6 encryption.
I have attached 2 encrypted files than can be decrypted with tool attached. Password is after underscore _ character. C_A.wp has password A. WP2LaTeX is capable to verify consistency of WP binary file. It looks correctly. Decrypted file seems good.
Kulish claims: "I believe, but would have to verify, that the only difference between enhanced and regular WP encryption is the case sensitivity of the password.
In other words, it adds nothing to the strength of the cipher."
seems to be wrong. There is early password check that might be the same. That is why crackers can hack both new and old cipher. But reading seems to need something more.
