There are changes in 0.4.0 and I can hardly believe that you
could compile the LiVES code without changing stuff.

Please consider taking a look at libvisual-hackground/standalone
and see if you can dig up some 'how to use' information there.

If nothing works out, talk to me at irc and we'll fix
it together.
