You may; I might ask the one or other foolish question too on
this list in the future.

But if it was an FX2 I would spend my time with something more 
meaningful than writing code for a platform-agnostic firmware 
flashing tool ...

I'll post a bus dump tomorrow. Maybe there's something unusual 
showing up there.
