I'm thinking of committing this plus doxygen docs for the macro, but 
with the macro named as LIBUSB_CC (CC = calling convention). Any 
thoughts on that?

I think LIBUSB_API is too unspecific, and we shouldn't hide the fact 
that the purpose of this macro is to define calling convention. This 
will also make the docs (of how and when the user should use this in his 
own program) line up with the naming of the macro.

Or other name suggestions?
