I don't think that will be necessary. I took a couple of minutes and worked out a more suitable solution. I suggest we add a flag (USBI_TRANSFER_OS_HANDLES_TIMEOUT) which can be set by the backend's submit_transfer. handle_timeouts could then check and skip transfers that will be timed out by the os. Dan, does this sound acceptable?
