But the better solution is to ask the manufacturer to correct the
firmware to be compliant to the specification.

Googling "bulk endpoint has invalid maxpacket 64" does point
to a few bad device -- Cowan S9 16GB, Terratec Cinergy T2
USB DVB-T adapter, SR71 USB, Qhy5 CCD Astronomy (your
device?), etc.
