I've emailed a copy of my VB6 lot tracking program to Thomas. I expect he'll include it in the next release of libnodave. Until then, if you want a copy of my VB program, you can download it from:
The program uses libnodave and MySQL to track lot numbers off parts produced in an assembly machine.
It will normally unzip, putting the VB project in a SRC directory and putting the README.TXT and ZIP.BAT in the current directory. See the README.TXT for more info.
I make no guarantee how long I'll leave it there. Normally I forget about it and it will be there for a year or more, but I won't promise that.
SUMMARY:
libnodave worked GREAT! There were a few unexpected things I had to figure out... but I don't think I've used a library yet that didn't have that. And, of course, the price was the best part. I've stated it numerous times in the README and in the source code, but it bears repeating: I initially wrote this to communicate with an S7-200 using a PPI cable, but final debug and installation was done with a CPU317 over ethernet. As such, there may be a bug or two in the serial component which haven't been worked out.
