It's a lot of work, so unless someone steps up to write the code and make patches for all apps currently using libmtp it is not likely to happen. Besides, e.g. Amarok 2, gnomad2 2.9.1 and Rhythmbox does this already, i.e. "hooks" the device as soon as it is plugged in. Provided they are started before the device is plugged in. Linus |
