I have a Huawei Y560-L01 mobile phone, with Android 5.1.1 and EMUI 3.1 lite.

In case it matters, it has:

Processor: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc MSM8909
Kernel version: 3.10.49
Build numer: Y560-L01V100R001C577B043

It's about a year old now, but the Y5 is an affordable and still very common smartphone.

Trying to mount it with jmtpfs, I get the following:

ronald@compy:~$ jmtpfs Android/
Unable to open ~/.mtpz-data for reading, MTPZ disabled.
Device 0 (VID=12d1 and PID=259c) is UNKNOWN.
Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team

ignoring libusb_claim_interface() = -6LIBMTP PANIC: failed to open session on second attempt

Further information is given by:

ronald@compy:~$ jmtpfs -l
Unable to open ~/.mtpz-data for reading, MTPZ disabled.
Device 0 (VID=12d1 and PID=259c) is UNKNOWN.
Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team

Somewhat mysteriously, Thunar, the graphical file manager of Xfce, does recognize the device as a Huawei phone. It shows up in the list of devices beneath "File System", as "Huawei LTE Handset".

However, clicking on it produces a dialogue box with the error message:

Failed to mount "Huawei LTE Handset".
Unable to open MTP device '[usb:001,023]'

The desktop system is Debian Jessie, in case that matters. The phone is of course set to act as an MTP device.

If support could be added for this phone, that would be great! :)

device or resource busy for the original commenter might mean it is used by "gvfs" for nautiliyus browsing.

second comment (0x2567) ... id added to git for 1.1.13 release, thanks!

hmm. weird though with the xfce manager, which might use gvfs. might be a permissions error.

both ids will be in 1.1.13
