Looks like you're trying to do 2nd order, so you'll need to use a HEX27.
The FE polynomial order can't be higher than the order of the geometric
element.

Also, FYI, there are some other limitations with vector-valued elements. I
haven't been able to get around to finishing the adaptivity parts, among
other things. If you hit a snag, let us know and I could help guide you
constructing a patch.
