The default install prefix is currently pointed to /usr. As most systems use /usr for packaged software and /usr/local for compiled, it might be a good idea to change this default prefix to /usr/local.

Will be modifying the build tree (hopefully today) so CVS will be using this. Future releases will use /usr/local.
