When multiple barcode scanning is implemented, a mechanism should exist for requesting the order in which the decoded output is returned. For example, the default behavior might print out each barcode message reflecting the order in which the barcode was detected in the image (maybe the first barcode was found in the center of the image and the second was found at the top-right).

This tracker requests a feature that allows the user to specify any combination of top-to-bottom and/or left-to-right message ordering, reflecting the physical layout of barcode position within the image.

As a crude example, one could print a barcode for each letter of the alphabet and then lay them out in a left-right + top-bottom English-text format, and then form words and sentences by photographing and decoding with this feature.
