Hi everybody? I am encountering issues with the latest versions of the Sony cameras, the X710 and the SX910 models. These cameras seem to have serious problems in handling the shutter setting. I have a DFW-X710 with the firmware version v1.02A here and it becomes totally unresponsive if I access the shutter register alot ( ie. turning back and forth the exposure slider in coriander ). The only way to recover this camera then is to unplug and replug it. Next I have a XCD-X710, FW version v1.07B. If I play with the shutter there ( eg. play with the shutter slider, then activate the AUTO and de-activate AUTO ), the exposure register becomes unresponsive. Again only unplugging/replugging recovers from this situation. A XCD-X710CR with the firmware version v2.01A does not show this issue. I see this behaviour not only with libdc1394 but also with windows drivers so it is almost definately a problem of the camera. Did anybody have similar experiences with these cameras? If anyone is using a Sony X710 or SX910, I would be _very_ interested in reports if they show such errors or not. Please mention the firmware version ( it is contained in the camera model name reported by coriander ). Or does anybody already have a workaround for these issues? Thanks, -Arne |
