I tested with an up-to-date Fedora 9 and an up-to-date Fedora 10.
FW cards used:
1. T.I. TSB43AB22
2. T.I. TSB43AB23
3. AGERE FW323 (rev 04)
4. T.I. TSB82AA2

All four work like a charm with the new svn version (587).

I also have a VIA card (VIA Technologies. Inc. IEEE 1394 Host
Controller (rev 46)). I could do tests with this card on Tuesday.
After the "yum update", the card caused a huge list of errors in
/var/log/messages and was no longer usable. Reverting to an older
kernel did not help. Two possibilities: either another updated package
is responsible for this, or the card was physically damaged in some
way.

This has nothing to do with the update to libdc however. I'm quite
confident the patch is good.
