    * added all changes from 7.0 branch
    * add root.common for common functions used during boot
    * updated /etc/mdev.conf to a more recent version
    * changed in root.linuxrc:
    echo /sbin/mdev >/proc/sys/kernel/hotplug
    
    * call mdev -s in root.loadmodules after we have loaded modules (automatically detected from
    modules.squashfs and /etc/modules) and before umount squashfs
    
    It works with autodetected modules like intel NIC modules (ifb).
    Don't know if it causes pb's with nut drivers, neeeds testing!
