FYI... I figured this out. Somehow the files all reverted to their original state. I was looking only to have the 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' and not all the data running constantly, for on my Sophos XG230, it was just too much and barley readable. I had forgot that I needed to modify the '50-lcdproc-sdeclcd' file in the '/usr/local/etc/rc.syshook.d/start/' directory. After I did this, everything is working fine.
