    G'day,
Updated from 2.1.2 to 2.5, and the text display has gone weird.  What was very readable in 2.1.2 is now bold and distorted font in 2.5.  Using XP SP3.  The display corrects when I revert to 2.1.2.

    Any ideas?

    Regards
    Ken

Screenshot? Have you tried a different skin?

    Thanks Simon,
A couple of screen grabs are at Flickr
As you've suggested I've tried an other skin - same effect.

Bizarre. Looks like cleartype rendering gone horribly wrong. It could be a missing font. Can you also try the other default skins or my custom skins.

Also worth trying is a temporary portable install, just to make sure it's not something specific to your Launchy installation.

I tried the other skins, no change.  I tried the a portable install, no change. Note that the font oddity applies to the Options dialog as well.
What font is used for the Options dialog and the Launchy results display?

Something weird is going on then. The whole of Qt is rendering fonts improperly on your system and I can't really say why. Have you done anything unusual with the installed Windows fonts or perhaps used the cleartype tuner?

What's your graphics card or chipset?

    G'day,

Fixed, using the TweakUI utility's "Repair Font Folder" component.  I don't know why it worked, the folder hadn't lost its magic, but I was getting desperate!
    Thanks for your help,

    Regards
    Ken

Excellent. Apart from upgrading the version of Qt that we use, I was out of ideas.
