I have Spybot installed at its standard location: "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy" and I have Launchy set to scan the links in the start menu and also all executables in "C:\Program Files" However, if I type "spybot" in Launchy the only match I get is "Uninstall Spybot" but not the executable that would launch Spybot.

It's happening on 3 computers and not sure why. Might it have something to do with the special characters "-" and "&" in the installation path?

It's a known issue, apparently having to do with the fact that the shortcuts point to hidden files.

        Hi,

first of all ecxuse my bad english. ;)
maybe you found a way by yourself, but i found a workaround:

        1. open any edtor you like and type soething like (maybe you have to change the path):

        cd "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\"
        start SpybotSD.exe /easymode

and save it as, e.g. spybot.bat in any directory you like (e.g. C:\Program Files\Launchy\Utilities\myscripts\)

        2. try your created batch-script by double-clicking it. Spybot should launch now.

        3. add in the launchy-options the folder you saved the file to the catalog. don't forget to set the file-types for this folder to *.bat and rescan the catalog

        4. have fun, launching spybot with launchy :)

        5. if you want the original spybot-logo to appear in launchy (and not the ugly icon from the script), the just create a link, pointing to the batch-file, change the icon of the link and change (in the launchy catalog-settings) the file-types for this folder from *.bat to *.lnk

I also cannot see the links. The page says the forum is private and that I've been redirected.

I'm wondering if the problem I am having is the same/related, or something different. Launchy cannot see my Picasa shortcut in the Start Menu/Programs directory. Lauchy also cannot see the Picasa3 executable itself, if I add the Program Files/Picasa 3 folder to the catalog and tell it to scan for *.exe. Launchy doesn't have a problem seeing other shortcuts and executables in those same Picasa 3 folders.
