Hi, To change language-specific highlighting you have to change the files in /usr/share/glimmer/languages. In your example it would be the php.lang file. cheers, .roel -- Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net |

Hi, how do I get glimmer to recognise certain function names (in my case php) and highlight them as a certain colour? I've played with the menu options to get the colouring to my liking, but it's not picking up specific PHP function names. I assume that I need to write a script and pop it somewhere in ~/.glimmer, could anyone supply me with a small example of this file please...if so I'll write a complete PHP4 function list and post it here. tia Bealers (Just in case it makes a difference, I've just upgraded from CodeCommander/Latte to glimmer 0.9.15) |

The new Glimmer mailing list is setup, so any of you who want to continue tracking the progress of this project can join. Also, there was a new release a few minutes ago. There is a ton of new stuff, so go check it out. http://glimmer.sourceforge.net Later, Chicane |

Since about v0.9.2 the compiler output doesn't appear in a tabbed window at the bottom. The splitter is there and works, but moving the splitter just reveals an empty area. Is this feature still supported? I didn't see any tabbed widgets in the source code so I'm guessing its not. Dave Hall |

Hi, I noticed a strange thing today: when selecting words by holding the shift and ctrl key and pressing right and left arrow buttons, there is some 'unexpected' behaviour: if you select a few words by pressing the right arrow, and then try to unselect the word that you selected last by pressing the left arrow, a new selection is made of only the word that you try to unselect. It works fine if you only hold the shift key (but then ofcourse you can only select one letter at a time). Another thing: could you make a 'replace in selection' option in the find/replace dialog? Now, if you select a part of your text, open a find/replace dialog, and then select a part of the text you want to search for, the selection in the text window is gone. It would be nice if that selection would stay. If any of these suggestions is already implemented in 0.9.11 or 0.9.12, then please excuse me, I am still using 0.9.10 because the latte homepage is unreachable from here at work because our dns server is acting strange. cheers, .roel -- Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net |

For anyone who is interested, I have written up a pretty decent file selector widget in python that can be added to the dock of LATTE. Attached is a file called autoexec.py, which should be saved to your ~/.latte directory. Let me know what you think! BTW, it also adds hide and show callbacks to the scripts menu so that you can make it go away. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 hi! found a bug that crashes latte: make sure the last line of the text contains no chars but just the caret at the fist column as if you want to enter new text, select all of the text (btw. it would be very cool to have a shortcut for "select-all") and press ctrl+tab. bang! ciao lars - -- http://www.highteq.net mailto:wo...@hi... -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.5i iQA/AwUBOaTX8koiY1hfH+5nEQK6hACgl1j/gZqoi2/jYTmDIv+bowyxLTUAnRFW tqXXNnHL6MrxnytmwxKB5OlV =fLb2 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hi, It would be cool if the focus would jump from the search textbox to the file your are searching in when something is found so that you can delete it or whatever right away and you don't have to click on the selection again. cheers, .roel -- Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net |

This feature is long overdue... I had not planned on implementing it until after the 1.0 release, but I has some time today, so I did it. It is commited to cvs for anyone who wants to check it out. Probably will be released sometime tomarrow. Hi, I tried to write a little script for latte yesterday using the pygtk bindings, but unfortunately I could not get it to work :-( The script runs fine when I run it as a standalone program, but when I run it in latte the window that I create in the script does not show up. Is there anyone who has tried this and who got it to work? Also, a nice feature would be to view the output of scripts (like error messages) in a window or something to debug scripts. cheers, .roel -- Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net |

hi, finally I look into the stroustup book and write the whole c++ keyword into the highlight file (since it's annoy me so much:-) I attached it to this mail. another problem that *.h files are interpreted as C source files even it's a c++ header file (and highlight it acorrding to c not c++). it would be useful to be a confiuration option to treat all file as C++ (or may be java...) since there is no other way to do this. yours. -- Levente http://petition.eurolinux.org/index_html "The only thing worse than not knowing the truth is ruining the bliss of ignorance." |

WooHoo! Man, nice one =) Latte looks so shit-hot, I've been looking everywhere for something like this. BTW, you might want to mail the owner of this site and get it added, I've tried most of them on here that can (allegedely) deal with php syntax highlighting, most of them blow-goat. It's been posted to the php-general list, a few times recently http://www.itworks.demon.co.uk/phpeditors.htm Thnx Bealers On 8/19/00, 7:28:12 PM, Chris Phelps wrote regarding Re: [Latte-devel] Using Latte under KDE: > Ooops :-) > You need the gnome-libs-devel package...forgot about that :-) > Later, > Chicane > Darren Beale wrote: > > > I think that latte is going to want a bunch of other shit, like esd, > > > gdkimlib and such. HI, I'm hoping this isn't a totally dumb question but I'm relatively new to Linux and I really want to use Latte and I can't get it installed. I see from the site that I need Gnome, but I run KDE, when I ./configure I get an error saying that It can't find gnomeLibs.conf, however I do have gnome libs installed, I even re-downloaded it and re-installed gnomelibs (1.0.55-12) and I still get the error I'm running redhat 6.2 BTW I have tried to install Gnome today (about 5 times) but it keeps timing out when I download it, so I'm back to trying it with KDE What can I do/what am I doing wrong tia Bealers |

ACK! Well, I found the problem, and also why I wasnt experiencing it. I was using the variable for using spaces, called (global_spaces) instead of global_indent, which meant that you had to have "Use spaces instead of tabs" on in the prefs...At any rate, it is fixed and will be released later today.
